IN LOVING MEMORY

Christie Lynn Nichols

Apr 17 1967 - Jan 15 2014

Christie Nichols quietly passed away on January 15, 2014, after a prolonged battle with cancer. She was 46 years old. Christie was born April 17, 1967, to Danny and Jean Breeze in Murray, Utah. She was the third of six children in the Breeze family who moved to Poway, California shortly after her birth. Christie was active in many school and community activities where she grew up in Poway, and graduated from Poway High School in 1985. Following high school she attended Brigham Young University for several years and eventually graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas in 2008 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school classes in Wichita Falls and McKinney after graduation. Her love of children and teaching was evident throughout her entire life. Christie married Richard Nichols on September 16, 1988, in the Los Angeles Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When her husband entered the United States Air Force shortly after their wedding, they began a twelve year active duty career that took them to various assignments in California and Texas. Throughout that time she raised three wonderful daughters; Katie, Megan, and Michala. In addition to her time spent raising her girls, she was always very active in schools, substitute teaching, dance, cheerleading activities, and volunteer work in the LDS church. Christie and her family have lived in Coppell, Wichita Falls, and McKinney since settling in the Dallas area in 2000. Christie was a devoted mother and wife, an avid reader, and a skilled crafter. She ran her own business in crafts and home décor for several years before finishing her teaching degree and returning to the classroom.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rich; three daughters, Katie (James Saunders), Megan, and Michala; mother, Jean Breeze; sisters, Debbie Carroll, Cindy Pleasant, and Amanda Henderson; and brother, David Breeze.

Christie was preceded in death by her father, Danny and brother, Jeffrey.
