Charlie Joe Wade of Frisco, TX passed away on the 26th of March, 2012 at his home. Joe was born on the 2nd of October, 1932 in Frisco, TX and was the youngest of three sons born to John Kirby Wade and Nancy Jane Strain Wade. Joe’s parents were farmers and the family lived in what was then the town of Lebanon located just north of 121 on Preston Road. The town at the time was a small community of farmers. Joe attended the school at Lebanon and went to Frisco High School in 1950.

While growing up in Lebanon, Joe attended the Lebanon Baptist Church and was baptized in July of 1944. He was, at his death, one of the oldest standing members in the Church. Joe was drafted into the Army during the Korean War where he served as a radio operator in a Field Artillery Battalion. Corporal Wade was discharged on the 15th of April, 1955 and received the Korean Service Medal and the U.N. Service Medal.

He returned home to Frisco where he met a young lady from Celina at Mr. Bacchus’s Gas Station. There in his khaki pants and blue checkered shirt, smoking a cigar, Joe swept Nancy off her feet. They were married on the 9th July, 1960 at First Presbyterian in Celina. They had two children, Suzanne and Charles Thomas. His children are 5th generation residents.

Joe spent his life in the Lebanon/Frisco area, farming with his two brothers, John and James, and later operating a grain elevator. Joe served for many years on the Frisco ISD school board and was one of the charter members of the Frisco VFW. He also enjoyed mowing, a task he was doing when he had his heart attack.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy; daughter, Suzanne; son, Tom; one brother, James and his wife, Daffin; sister-in-law, Pansy Wade Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Wade.
