Charlie Wayne Lowry, of Fairview, Texas, went to be with his savior Jesus Christ on July 20, 2013 at the age of 69. He was born July 15, 1944, in Fairview, Texas, to H. L. and Margaret (Blasingame) Lowry. On February 23, 1970, Charlie married Judith K. Grubbs, in Shreveport, Louisiana. He proudly served his country in the United States National Guard. Charlie loved his grandchildren dearly. He enjoyed fishing, spending time on the beach and riding his motorcycle. Charlie was a member of Cottonwood Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Lowry of Fairview, Texas; children, Angie Simmons and husband Matt of Frisco, Texas, Doug Lowry and wife Rose of Frisco, Texas and Leeanne Lowry of Joplin, Missouri; grandchildren, Natalie, Hannah, Lauren, Cohan, Emma, Bradyn, Jaxon and Ellyson; brothers, Tommie Lowry and wife Carol of Fairview, Carl Lowry of Plano, Texas, David Lowry of Garland, Texas, Bob Lowry and wife Sheree of Melissa, Texas; and numerous other family members.
Charlie is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. A remembrance gathering, for family and friends, will be held Tuesday evening, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
