IN LOVING MEMORY

Charles Robert Triplett

Mar 06 1929 - Apr 07 2008

Charles Robert Triplett, 79, of McKinney, passed away peacefully on the 7th of April, with his loving wife of 59 years and his beloved grandson at his side. In the hours before his death they never left his side. Charles was born on the 6th of March 1929 to Robert Christie and Edith Mae (Holloway) Triplett in Northview, Missouri. Within the next few years his sisters, Betty Jo (Triplett) Cox and Christine (Triplett) Eslick of Missouri followed. He spent his childhood on a farm in Missouri. He didn't enjoy the modern invention of electricity until his senior year in high school. He graduated High School at the early age of 16 after completing two grades in one year. During his childhood he not only learned how to farm but his mother also taught him how to embroider and quilt. At the early age of 19 he met the woman, Betty Shirey, he would love for the next 59 years. Within 3 months of meeting they were married on the 2nd of August 1948. Into this joyful, loving union came three children, Charles Russell Triplett (1949), Andrew Carl Triplett (1952) and Kandyce Marie (Triplett) Woodard (1955). Charles was a loving devoted father. His children will sorely miss him. His departure leaves a hole that cannot be filled. His children always knew both growing up and in their adult lives that their "Daddy" loved them. He loved them through all the trials of life. He passed on to them his work ethic, his love of nature, his curiosity in how things work and other things too numerous to list. In 1954, he found a spiritual way of life that would continue until his death. It gladdened his heart that his wife followed that path with him. On the 5th of March 1955 he dedicated his life to Jehovah God. He entered into the ministry work as one of Jehovah's Witnesses and continued in that course until death. He was an active participant in the ministry work and found great joy in helping others come to love Jehovah. It was known by all at the Kingdom Hall that "Brother Charles" would get you to the assembly if you did not have a way. He never left anyone behind. Charles had a big heart. He never saw the 'in-law' - he saw a son or daughter. He never had a mother-in-law - he had another mother. One of the happiest days in his life was when he received the news he would be a grandfather. Charles was known for his love of irises and the blooms of his snowball bushes. He loved to plant and watch things grow. He passed this love onto his children. Charles was always curious and never afraid to ask questions about how something worked or ran. He never met a stranger and was able to strike up a conversation with almost anyone. Charles was preceded in death by his father Robert Christie Triplett and his mother Edith Mae ( Holloway) Triplett. He was also preceded in death by his son Charles Russell Triplett and his 2nd mother, Marie Banovitch. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Betty Marie (Shirey) Triplett. He is survived by his son Andrew Charles Triplett and his daughter Andrea Triplett. He is also survived by his daughter Kandi Woodard and her husband Wade Woodard and their two children Daniel Owen and Kassie Woodard. He is also survived by his sisters Betty Jo (Triplett) Cox and Christine (Triplett) Eslick and their children. Also surviving is his 'adopted by the heart' son Danny Owen and his niece Sandra Chenoweth and her family. Several other nieces and nephews survive him also. Charles will be missed by his family and his friends. A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on the 12th of April 2008 (Saturday) at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 1995 F.M. 546 McKinney, Texas 75069. Everyone that knew him is invited to join his family and friends in this celebration of his life.
