Charles Stewart McAnally

Charles Stewart McAnally of Gunter, Texas passed away on January 30, 2013 at the age of 79. He was born on August 18, 1933 in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Emory Laurel Benjamin and Virginia Francis Stewart. On May 1, 1960, Charles married Doris Louise Olson in Chicago, Illinois. He was a graduate of the University of Denver where he earned his BBA in Accounting. Charles proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. His career began at Arthur Andersen in Chicago; he then worked in the finance division for Time-DC in Denver, Colorado. Later he would work for IML Freight located in Salt Lake City, Utah as Vice President; he then moved on to work for Transport Clearings International as President. From there, he moved on to become the Owner and Vice President of Herman Brothers. Charles completed his career at CX Transportation where he was President and Vice President of Finance. He was a member of the Lutheran faith.

He is survived by his children John David McAnally of Gunter, Texas; Peter Stewart McAnally and wife Wennie of McKinney, Texas; Andrew James McAnally of Gunter, Texas; Cheryl Louise Bonnett and husband Stephen of O’Fallon, Missouri; Jennifer Ann McAnally and fiancé Nick of Atlanta, Georgia; grandchildren Audrey and Cynthia Mei; great-grandchild Malena Mei; brothers James W. McAnally of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Si Benjamin of Magdalena, New Mexico and Charley Benjamin of Las Cruces, New Mexico; sister, Sally Benjamin of Las Lunas, New Mexico; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents and wife Doris Louise McAnally.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will be held at a later date at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday evening at the funeral home.
