Charles Edward “Ted” Gifford, age 60, of McKinney, Texas passed away April 12, 2005, in Plano, Texas. He was born on July 23, 1944, in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Charles Edward and Elizabeth Mary (Closterhouse) Gifford. On July 1, 1972, he married Judith Ann Bunce in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. Mr. Gifford served in the U.S. Air Force in Intelligence with over 20 years of service. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and retired as a Master Sergeant in 1982. For many years he was computer programmer. Currently he was attending school to become a middle school math teacher. He was a substitute teacher for MISD and worked with the Boy Scouts for many years. He is survived by his wife, Judy Gifford of McKinney; sons, Charles “Chip” Gifford and wife, Rhonda of Toledo, Ohio, Fred and Sean Gifford both of McKinney; grandchildren, Matthew, Charlie, Selena and Sara Beth; and brother, Rick Simons of Kansas City, Kansas. His sister, Clatonia Gifford and parents preceded him in death. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 16, 2005, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.
