Charles Robert Germeck, age 69, of Plano, Texas, passed away November 28, 2015. Charles was born January 9, 1946, in Port Jefferson, Long Island, New York where he grew up. He enlisted in the United States Army and served two tours during the Vietnam Conflict where he was a helicopter pilot and became a helicopter instructor and was honorably discharged in 1975 with the rank of Captain. Charles received his bachelor degree in computer science from North Texas State University and was employed with Texas Instruments, EDS, and was currently working for Hewlett-Packard. He enjoyed cooking and bowling as well as a number of other sports.
He is survived by his sons, Karl Germeck of Chapel Hill, North Carolina and David Germeck of Houston, Texas; their mother, Judy Germeck of Lake Dallas, Texas; sisters, Lois Schneider and husband, Stanley of Miller Place, New York and Carole Pipolo and husband, Tony of New York City, New York; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other loving family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
