Charles Frederick Clarkson Jr., age 93, of Dallas, Texas passed away June 10, 2012. He was born October 11, 1918 in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles Frederick Clarkson and Margaret Gillespie Clarkson. On November 22, 1947 he married Evelyn Rose Bunte in San Mateo, California. Charles joined the Navy January 14, 1942 and was discharged February 28, 1946. He was a veteran of World War II and was stationed in the South Pacific. He worked in sales for Gardner-Denver Co. for over 35 years. Charles was a member of the First Union Congregational Church in Quincy, Illinois, where he was an elder.
He is survived by his son, Charles Clarkson III and wife, Cheryl of Southlake, Texas; daughter, Deborah Jones and husband, Rodger of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Charles Clarkson IV and Katherine Clarkson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Evelyn Clarkson.
A memorial service for the family will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at Whites Chapel United Methodist Church, Founder’s Chapel, Southlake, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army or the American Red Cross.
