Cecil Kirk Wheeler, age 99, of Dallas, Texas, formerly of Plano, Texas, passed away January 14, 2012, in Dallas. Cecil was born January 1, 1913, in Prospect, Texas, to John E. and Hattie Hester (Talley) Wheeler. He married Opal Scruggs on January 19, 1933, in Frederick, Oklahoma. They were married for 73 years. Cecil owned and operated Wheeler’s Barber Shop in Amarillo, Texas for many years and retired to Plano, Texas in 1976. In Amarillo, he was a former member of Central Church of Christ where he was a song director. Cecil was an active member of Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, Texas for several years. Preceded in death by his wife Opal and son Royce Lynn Wheeler, Cecil is survived by his daughter, Lynette Hagaman and husband, Alan of Dallas, Texas; a grandson, Josh Hagaman of Dallas, Texas; and Ashley Hagaman, his great-granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Opal, son, Royce Lynn Wheeler, nine brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m., which will include a prayer service on Monday, January 16, 2012, at Waterview Church of Christ, 1409 N. Waterview Dr., Richardson, Texas, 75080. There will be a private family graveside service Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at Burkburnett Cemetery in Burkburnett, Texas.
