Cecil Eugene Stark

Cecil Eugene (Gene) Stark was born November 11, 1949 in Dallas, Texas to Cecil C. and Gladys J. (Hazelwood) Stark. He grew up in the Dallas area. In 1972, he received a BA in secondary education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas where he was a member of Alpha Tao Omega social service fraternity. Gene attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas earning a Master of Divinity in 1975 and a Doctor of Ministry degree in 1980. He pastored Brandon Baptist Church in Brandon, Texas from 1973-1974; First Baptist Church in Eldorado, Texas from 1974-1979; First Baptist Church in Ballinger, Texas from 1979-1981; First Baptist Church in Crowley, Texas from 1981-1985 and First Baptist Church in Enid, Oklahoma from 1985-1990. After leaving the pastorate, he entered the sales profession and was a sales consultant for Choice Homes at the time of his death. He died on August 24, 2005 of heart disease in Dallas, Texas. Mr. Stark is survived by Alaine Adams Stark of Frisco, Texas; two sons, Steven Eugene Stark and John Clifton Stark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; four stepchildren, Amy and Doug Henderson of St. Louis, Missouri, Sarah Gregory of West Virginia, Sgt. Brian and Leah Adams of Frisco, Texas, and Jeffrey Adams of Frisco, Texas; his mother, Gladys Stark of Celina, Texas; father-in-law, Wilfred Thompson of Garland, Texas; two brothers, John and Barbara Stark of Celina, Texas and Robert and Janice Stark of Frisco, Texas; one sister, Jane and Matt Bradley of Des Moines, Iowa; eight nieces; two nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Patsy Elaine Smith. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, August 28, 2005 at First Baptist Church in Frisco, Texas. Interment will follow at Little Elm Cemetery in Little Elm, Texas. Friends may come by the Funeral Home to pay their respects Friday and Saturday between the hours of 12:00-6:00 PM.
