Caryl Lynn Penton of Allen, Texas passed away October 19, 2016, at the age of 78. She was born July 12, 1938, to Oscar Riewerts and Lucille (Jones) Riewerts in Oakland, California. Caryl married Huey Paul Penton on November 5, 1955, in Oakland, California. She grew up in Oakland, California where she attended schools. Caryl retired from Visalia School District in California where she worked with the Young Expected Mothers Program. Her passion in life was daycare and babies. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Free Church in Allen, Texas.
Caryl is survived by her spouse, Huey Penton of Allen; sons, Paul Penton and wife Marianne of Lemoore, California, Jeff Penton and wife Joanne of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Tim Penton and wife Kristen of Visalia, California; daughter, Terri Lynn Avila and husband Thomas of Allen, Texas; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Edward Riewerts; and sisters, Arlene Sisson and Leola Sethe.
She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Adam Penton and Tiffany Lynn Avila, sister, Frances, and mother-in-law, Mildred Penton.
A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas with Joel Walters officiating.
