Carrol Jean James, age 72, of Nederland, Texas, passed away September 14, 2008 in McKinney, Texas. She was born August 7, 1936 in Port Arthur, Texas to Theodore Ignatius and Mary Hardy (Richard) Devalcourt. On September 8, 1956 she married William David James, III in Port Arthur, Texas. Carol grew up in Port Arthur and attended Port Arthur Business School. She was a member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Port Arthur. Carrol enjoyed sewing and quilting. She is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, William David James, III of Nederland, Texas; sons, William David James, IV and wife, Christie of McKinney, Texas, Dane Alan James of Port Arthur, Texas, Dalton Thomas James of Brooklyn, New York and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 20, 2008 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church McKinney, Texas with Father Mike Michie officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
