Carolyn, better known as “Khaky”, left for a glorious reunion with the ones she loves on Monday, February 23, 2015. Khaky was born on January 26, 1943 in Crowley, LA to Garland and Nina Wriborg Rue. She died in her home in Isabella Village at Savannah, TX. Khaky was survived by her husband, Ed Jodon, one son: Thomas Jodon and wife, Kelly of Phoenix, AZ, one daughter: Cynthia Jodon Swinford and husband Dewayne of Providence Village, TX, and three brothers: Terry Rue of Weslaco, TX, Gary Rue and wife Karen of Fort Worth, TX and Cary Rue of Crowley, LA. She was preceded in death by her parents: Garland and Nina Wriborg Rue of Crowley, LA and one brother: Ronnie Rue of Rayne, LA. She was also blessed with numerous relatives in Louisiana & Texas and a host of good friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Khaky’s family all had music talent and usually played the guitar and sing together after lunch on Sundays. She was the only daughter of five children. Khaky married Ed Jodon, on her birthday in 1964. They were blessed to have celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their children and grandchildren in Ruidoso, NM in 2014. They have been married for 51years.

Khaky was a graduate of Crowley High School in Crowley, LA. During her lifetime she has worked as a secretary, school teacher, and homemaker and was the original owner and manager of Music Manor, a music store in Plano, TX.  Ed & Khaky lived in Plano, TX for 43 years and moved to the 55+ community, Isabella Village, in 2013.

Khaky was a devoted wife, mother, good friend and a faithful church member. She volunteered her time helping with various church activities, including teaching, mission trips, adult choir, youth ministry and tours. She was handy doing crafts as she quilted in her church quilting groups for fund raising, and quilting, knitting, and sewing for charities. She was quite talented as through the years she would entertain for various church groups with her music and humorous skits, for nearly 30 years. She was also the family historian traveling with her husband seeking family roots. In their retirement years they traveled via motor home throughout the United States. Khaky declares that the words of America the Beautiful are true and is so proud to live in the United States of America. They used their motor home to serve on mission work projects with Campers on Mission since 2003. They served at Christian Conference Centers in NM, NC, NH, and at many camps in Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday, February 27 at Meadows Baptist Church in Plano, TX with Dr. Scott Fenton of Meadows Baptist Church and Dr. Jeff Williams of First Baptist Denton officiating.
