IN LOVING MEMORY

Carolyn Jane Garcia

Jun 15 1945 - Apr 15 2013

Carolyn Jane Garcia, age 67, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away April 15, 2013. She was born June 15, 1945, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to Martha (Goldsmith) Gabler and Harold Gabler.

Carolyn grew up in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from Bryan Adams High School. She went on to obtain degrees from Texas Tech University and Southern Methodist University. After college she lived in Dallas and Tulsa for a number of years before moving back to Albuquerque where she lived for the last 20 years. Among her many loves were traveling to Europe, spending time with her numerous close friends and bragging about her cherished grandson. She had a great love of animals and provided a loving home for many dogs and cats throughout the years. She especially enjoyed spending time with her pets at the dog park in Albuquerque where she formed many dear friendships.

Carolyn had recently moved to McKinney, Texas to be closer to family. She enjoyed finding a new park to walk her dogs and loved being able to see her grandson play soccer and baseball. Although her passing was unexpected, her family was comforted by knowing that she had loved ones by her side at the time of her death.

She is survived by her son, Michael Manicom and wife, Karen of McKinney, Texas; grandson, Will Manicom of McKinney, Texas; father, Harold Gabler of Belen, New Mexico; brothers, Tom Gabler and wife, Livia of New Braunfels, Texas, Doug Gabler of Deep River, Connecticut; half-brother, Tom Gabler and partner, Christopher Mondragon of Laguna Niguel, California, half-sister Jeanette Murphy of Leander, Texas; nieces, Sara Shirley, Nicole Sanchez and Jessica Murphy; nephew Wesley Gabler; lifelong friends, Bill and Sharon Manicom and their daughter Shannon Mitchum of Dallas, Texas; beloved dogs Misha and Chyna and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Gabler.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to the SPCA or the charity of your choice.
