Carol Jane Engler, age 66, of Plano, Texas, passed away March 16, 2014. She was born on January 2, 1948, in Garden City, Michigan. Her parents were Peter Paul and Martha Lou (Wagers) Rimshas. Carol was active in the Girl Scouts and a founding member of Park Forest Civic Association in Plano. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic church, where she was a Eucharistic minister.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Engler of Plano, Texas; children, Bill Engler and wife Lori of Wylie, Texas, Jacquelyn Smith and husband Andrew of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren, Cecilia, Felicity, Lucy, Cyprian and Abraham; great-grandchildren, Collin and Parker; sister, Mary Jo Henn of Westland, Michigan; brother, John Rimshas of Westland, Michigan; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Pete and Martha Rimshas; brother, Bill Rimshas.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2700 W Spring Creek Pkwy, Plano, TX 75023. The family will receive friends during a visitation being held Monday evening, beginning at 6:30 p.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
