IN LOVING MEMORY

Carlyle Thomas "Tom" Weichmann

Mar 11 1928 - Sep 13 2009

Mr. Carlyle Thomas “Tom” Weichmann was born in Chicago on March 11, 1928. He attended Schurz High School. Upon graduation, he won a full scholarship to Yale University, the first ever to win such a prestigious award from our high school. He graduated at the age of 20 and went to work for Rand McNally for 38 years. Tom navigated his family through good times and hard times. He modeled the value of hard work, perseverance, and integrity, leaving behind a legacy for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. His kindness and generosity were boundless, as well as his energy and creativity in entertaining his many grandchildren. He had a strong and abiding faith in his Lord, Jesus Christ and we are thankful that he is now rejoicing in His presence. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Bugh. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Lois; daughters, Kyle and Karen and sons, Kent and Craig. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church in Allen with Rev. June Franck officiating. Tom will lie in repose beginning at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at the church. Friends are invited to join the family for a reception following the service in the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tom, to the First United Methodist Church of Allen or the Allen Community Outreach (ACO).
