IN LOVING MEMORY

Carlos G. Garcia

Oct 20 1930 - Feb 25 2009

Carlos G. Garcia, my beloved father, age 78, of Houston, Texas passed away suddenly at McKinney Medical Center on February 25th 2009. He joined his loving wife on her birthday. Daddy was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 20th 1930 and was the first born to Luis M. and Elvira Garcia of Bishop, Texas. My father proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received multiple badges and medals which included the Combat Infantry Badge, Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal and the Purple Heart. After his service, he married my beautiful Mother, Magdalena Garcia on December 20th 1953 in Kingsville, Texas. They were happily married for 54 loving years. He continued his career with the Union Pacific Railroad in Houston, Texas until retirement. He was actively involved with his church and community both in Houston and McKinney, Texas. He was a long time member and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. My Father loved volunteering and always lending a helping hand. He enjoyed dancing, social gatherings, going to the casinos, and spending time with his grandchildren. There has been great sadness having to cope with the loss of both parents. They were both an instrumental part of my life. No matter what, I could always count on them. My love for them is eternal. I look forward to the day where we can be together again. Carlos is survived by his daughter, Melissa Garcia Brewer and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Brandon, Harrison and Jakob of McKinney, Texas; Brothers, Luis and his wife Margaret of Shreveport, LA, Ernesto and his wife Alamar of Riverview, MI, Agustin and his wife Patricia of Anaheim, CA and Francisco and his wife Sylvia of Anaheim, CA. He will be dearly missed by all his friends and family. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 1st starting at 5pm, continued by a rosary at 7pm at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral home at 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. Funeral Services will continue on Monday, March 2nd at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church at 10 am, the funeral will conclude with burial at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery at 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, TX.
