Carl Rosco Smith, Jr., age 82, of Frisco, Texas passed away December 14, 2009. He was born September 7, 1927 to Carl Rosco Smith, Sr. and Lula (St. John) Smith. Carl grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana. He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a carpenter all his life and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union. Carl loved to go camping and fishing. He was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Silsbee, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Marie Smith of Frisco, Texas; son, Jim Smith and wife, Dorothy of Plano, Texas; grandson, Phillip Smith of Plano, Texas; sister, Eldress “Button” Locicero and husband, Sal of Fred, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lula Smith; one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, December 16, 2009 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas with Chaplain Phil Torres officiating. Interment will be held at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Port Neches, Texas at a later date. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Tuesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 5:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
