IN LOVING MEMORY

Carl Ernest Johnson, Jr.

May 12 1958 - May 31 2014

Carl Ernest Johnson, Jr., age 56 of Frisco, Texas passed away on May 31, 2014 in Frisco.  Carl was born on May 12, 1958 in Buzzard’s Bay, Massachusetts to Carl and Hope Johnson.  He married Karen Margaret Day on September 15, 1979 in New Milford Connecticut. Karen and Carl were High School Sweethearts and moved to Texas in 1978. Carl loved music and was a drummer. He aspired to work in the music industry until he discovered his new love-graphic design. Carl worked as a Graphic Artist with JCPenney for over 20 years. There, he taught himself everything and worked hard to get where he is today. He was a mentor to many young aspiring artists, who moved on to continue their careers outside of JCPenney. He was a man with strong conservative values who believed in family and that good things come to those who work hard. These values are reflected in the choices his two daughters have made and will continue to make in their lives.

The impact that Carl has made on so many people is reflected in the outpouring of support and love for his family. He was a great man, and will be missed more than he would ever know.

He is survived and will be missed by his wife, Karen Johnson of Frisco, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, McKenna and Nick Fleury of McKinney, Texas; daughter, Haley Johnson of Frisco, Texas; grandson, Connor Fleury of McKinney, Texas; mother, Hope Johnson; two brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at a Visitation to be held from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 4:00 PM with Pastor Justin Hillhouse officiating.

As you might imagine, the number of people who have asked about contributing to Carl and his family has been quite significant as he has touched so many lives over his 25 year career at JCPenney.

In an effort to provide a channel for donation, we have worked with the folks at Chase Bank to establish a "donation account" where funds earmarked for the education of Carl's children and grandson can be donated. There are multiple ways to give and we would like to present these options to any and all who chose to contribute.

Below please see the donation instructions for those interested.

 How to make a donation:

An Education Fund has been established for McKenna, Haley and Conner, in honor of Carl's memory.  The account is at Chase Bank (account # 3037464199).
