Mr. Carl H. Ganster, age 71, of Allen, Texas passed away on December 13, 2004, in Allen. He was born on February 2, 1933, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Phillip W. and Margaret (Hoffman) Ganster. He married Virginia Katherine Olszewski on June 16, 1989 in Pittsburgh. Mr. Ganster served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a VFW Chaplain Post 2195 in Allen. He was a bricklayer for LTV Steel in Pittsburgh, where he retired in 1981. He was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Virginia K. Ganster of Allen, Texas; sons, Carl Paul Ganster of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Craig R. Achman of Dallas, Texas, and Christopher Achman of Allen, Texas; daughter, April Van Dyke of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Steven Ganster and Lauren Marie Ganster; brother, Phil Ganster of Pittsburgh; and sister, Carolyn Burkhart also of Pittsburgh. Mr. Ganster was preceded in death by his grandson, Craig R. Achman and sister, Margaret Dyer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 16, 2004, at the Freewill Baptist Church. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 9:00 PM, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
