Brian William Moore of Dallas, Texas passed away May 29, 2012 at the age of 30. He was born May 22, 1982 to Michael William and Cristel (Dawson) Moore in Houston, Texas. He graduated from Plano East HS and attended Texas Tech University and UT Dallas. He accepted Christ as his Savior as a child and continued to invest in that relationship into his adulthood. Brian had a zest for life and an infectious smile that made him a joy to be around. He had a ready and willing spirit to help others whenever they had a need. His assistance would usually include a hearty dose of light hearted humor—the result most often being many smiles and laughter. Brian had a contagious optimism that his friends and family will recall with great fondness. He was really good at letting them know they were loved. Brian loved being outdoors—especially the Texas hill country. It was his “heaven on earth”. He caught his love for hunting and fishing from his grandfathers and was always eager to share the tales of his experiences when he came in from a hunt. He discovered the game of golf as a young teenager and it became a passion that thrilled him. He enjoyed his years on the varsity Plano East High School team. He played the game with drive and determination; and was good at focusing on “the shots that were his best” while leaving those other ones behind. He loved making music. While his first love was the guitar, he was comfortable to sit down and pick out songs on the piano or carry a strong beat with the drums. He loved bringing smiles to people through sharing his songs or joining them in theirs.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Cristel Moore of Parker, Texas; brothers, Chris Moore and his wife Judi of Dallas, Texas and Stephen Moore of Denton, Texas; cousins, Ashley Granberry of Little Elm, Texas and Robert Granberry of Dallas, Texas; grandparents, E. Robert Dawson and wife Marilyn of Bandera, Texas; grandmother, Cheryl Moore of Houston, Texas; grandfather, Jerry Morris of Abilene, Texas; aunts, Diane Mastrud of Thousand Oaks, California and Geni Granberry of Victoria, Texas; uncle, Marshall Moore of Houston, Texas; and several cousins and other loving family members.
Brian was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Marjorie Ann Davis Bouldin and Sue Hannah Morris; and grandfather, Frank Lee Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at First Baptist McKinney, 1615 W. Louisiana Street, McKinney, Texas 75069. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
