Brian Leeswood-Jones was born February 2, 1988 to Mona Atkins in Garland, Texas. He grew up in Weston and Howe, Texas and graduated from Howe High School. He joined the United States Army immediately following graduation. He completed basic training and Airborne training at Fort Benning, Georgia. After serving his country both stateside and in Afghanistan, he returned home to Weston. During his free time, he enjoyed dirt track racing at Grayson County Speedway. Go #357! Brian loved fishing with his mom and picking on his brother. He was a volunteer firefighter for Weston Fire Department. Brian was an exceptional and loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin, friend, soldier, firefighter, and racer. He is survived by his mother, Mona Atkins; brother, Jake Leeswood-Jones; sister, Tanya; grandparents, James and Joyce Atkins, Ralph and Barbara Sloan, and David and Carol Leeswood-Jones; aunts, Sissy, Cindy, Angelica, Michelle, and Aunt Rikki; uncle, Scott; cousins, Lacey, Eric, Casey Jones and Brittany. He will be greatly missed by countless other family members and friends as he was special and treasured by everyone he encountered. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 14, 2010, at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Sunday, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
