Brett Jason Riley

Brett Jason Riley, 29, son of Larry and Deloris Riley of Allen, Texas passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 23, 2011. Brett was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 16, 1981. He grew up in Overland Park, Kansas and in Allen, Texas, graduating from Allen High School in 2000. Brett worked in the hospitality field at various hotels in the Dallas area as a front desk attendant/night auditor. Growing up, Brett enjoyed playing sports, especially football, collecting sports cards and hanging out with his friends. As an adult, Brett loved going to movies and buying movie memorabilia. He also loved to read and to spend time with friends and family, including going to arcades with his nephew Dylan. Brett was very socially engaging and passionate about living life to its fullest. He loved his family and close friends very much. His smile, hearty laugh and quick wit will be remembered and missed. Brett is survived by his parents, one brother, Matthew Riley of Dallas, TX; nephew, Dylan Riley of McKinney, TX; grandparents, Calvin Riley of Jefferson City, MO; Helen Knox of LaVista, NE; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins in Nebraska, Missouri and Indiana. Brett was preceded in death by his brother, Derek Riley; grandmother, Lois Riley; grandfather, Bill Knox and great-grandmother, Ora Frobish. A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in Omaha, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at www.JDRF.org to ‘Make a Memorial Donation’.
