IN LOVING MEMORY

Brenda Spencer-Lawler

Aug 16 1958 - Sep 07 2007

Brenda Spencer-Lawler, lost her 2 year battle with brain cancer on September 7, 2007. When Brenda was born in Dover, Delaware on August 16, 1958, the world gained an incredible person with a sense of humor that many could not touch nor dare try to. Laughter and love surrounded Brenda throughout her life, but especially during the last few weeks. Brenda lived and loved to make people happy and she was quite successful at both throughout her life. It was Brenda’s sense of humor that got her family and friends through what were some of the toughest days of our lives. It was that humor that propelled her to a successful career at Avnet Electronics and Mary Kay Cosmetics and where she made numerous lifelong friends, too many to mention. Brenda always said, it was never about the business, it was always about the people. Brenda continued to find a way to communicate through humor, even on the darkest of days. In Brenda’s last few weeks on this earth, she told us that “we have had more laughter in 1 week than most families have in a lifetime” and she couldn’t have been more right, but it was all thanks to her ornery smile and infectious laugh. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the people in Brenda’s life who continued to take time out of their busy schedules to visit, call or send cards throughout this 2 year journey, but most importantly during the past few weeks of Brenda’s life. We would especially like to send thanks to our Delaware, Maryland and Tennessee families whose continued support and prayers for Brenda got her through some of her toughest days. Family meant everything to Brenda and you did not let her down! Brenda touched many lives in her 49 years, but none more so than the lives of her family: husband, Steve Lawler, children, Joshua, Christopher and Rachael Lawler all of Allen, TX; parents, Bob and Joyce Spencer; sisters, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews: Pam, Mike, Natalie and Shane Snyder; Kim, Charlie, Cortney and Keegan Marquis; Maribeth, Kevin, Spencer, Weston and Brayden Canole, all of Highland Village, TX; and brother, sister-in-law and nephew Bobby, Jenny Lynn and Geddy Spencer of New York, NY. Brenda will also be missed by numerous family, friends and colleagues. Please join us in celebrating Brenda’s life at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in McKinney; visitation Monday, September 10th from 7-9 pm and a celebration of Brenda’s life will be Tuesday, September 11th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to: the American Brain Tumor Association (ABTA), 2720 River Road, Des Plaines, IL 60018 OR you may donate on-line at www.abta.org or the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation, P.O. Box 799044, Dallas, Texas 75379. Brenda Lynn, we will miss your presence in our lives, but we will cherish the many laughs and memories you shared with us forever…..what a gift!
