Brenda Button Mills, age 63 of Little Elm, Texas passed away on February 15, 2010 in Plano, Texas. She was born on July 27, 1946 in Wichita, Kansas to Edwin Derwood and Bonnita Lorene (Loper) Button. Brenda married Dickie Mills on October 22, 1966 in Garland, Texas. Over the years Brenda worked for State Farm as a Secretary for five years and Orowheat Bread. She went on to own and operate the Little Elm Grocery Store with her husband, Dickie for seven years. Brenda then began her career in Public Service working as the City Secretary of Little Elm for 10 years, and the Little Elm School District for twenty years. Her final job before retirement was as the Principal’s Secretary at the King Elementary Campus. Brenda served terms on the Town Council and Chamber of Commerce Board, donating her time faithfully to her community. Brenda is survived by her husband, Dickie Mills of Little Elm; children, Sabrina Mills and Charlena Mills Peach, of Little Elm, Texas Jack Mills and his fiancé, Lisa Andrews of Pilot Point, Texas; grandchildren, Alex, Baleigh-Jo, Aric, Hunter, Gracie, Jackson, Ethan, Blake, Scotty, and Lexie; one great-grandson, Cooper-Lee; brother, Brent Button and his wife, Brenda Jo of Hillsboro, Texas; nephews, Lonnie, Donnie and Mark Button and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved parents. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Frisco, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Button Memorial United Methodist Church in Little Elm, Texas with Chaplain Harold “Curley” Mills and Pastor Jimmy Davis officiating.
