IN LOVING MEMORY

Brenda Gail Belcher

Feb 11 1949 - Oct 09 2013

Brenda Gail Belcher was born February 11, 1949 in Grundy, Virginia to Eunice Belcher Bowman. She passed away on October 9, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center, in Denison, Texas at the age of 64.

On Wednesday morning, October 9, 2013, Heaven received an Angel. To her family and friends, she was known as BB. She had the soul of an angel and you never saw her without a smile on her face, even when she was not feeling well. Although she was disabled from childhood polio, she never let her circumstances get in the way of how she chose to live her life. Her wonderful and loving spirit shined outwardly to everyone she met. Brenda also had the greatest sense of humor, which began at a young age.

One of our favorite stories was about the time she spent at the Shriners Hospital having surgeries to try to help her walk. During her time there, they used old hearses to transport children back and forth to various places. One day, BB thought it would be hilarious to pretend she was deceased, and then wait until they got to a stop light and sit up slowly and look at the people in the cars next to her and scare them. She decided at a very young age that it was better to have a sense of humor and to be happy with the life God had given her.

There are many memories and plenty more stories of her life that will be shared in the coming days and weeks. Brenda will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. We were all blessed to have had her in our lives for the 64 years that God allowed us to enjoy her sweet, loving and beautiful spirit as well as her quick wit and silly sense of humor.

She is survived by mother, Eunice Bowman of Whitewright; sister, Barbara Prindle of Whitewright; brother, James Bowman and wife Christine of Whitewright; sister, Lurlia Glaze and husband Marcell of Burleson; brother, Ralph Bowman of Michigan; sister, Mildred Bowman of Whitewright; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bart and Sara Belcher; brother, Jesse Bowman; sister, Emma Jean Bowman; brother-in-law and friend Harry Prindle.

Graveside Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Oak Hill Cemetery, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Rodney Stanford.
