Brandon Jay Vandiver, age 30, of Athens, Texas passed away May 31, 2009. He was born February 3, 1979 in Tyler, Texas to Jay and Carolyn (Toler) Vandiver. Brandon worked in contractor sales in the home improvement industry. He was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ in Athens. Brandon loved country music, particularly George Strait. He was very involved in his church. Brandon was a friend of anyone but an enemy of no one and was a cowboy at heart. He found a great companion in Lori, his fiancé and sweetheart. He is survived by his son, Tyler Vandiver of Plano, Texas; fiancé, Lori Bissett of Athens, Texas; father, Jay Vandiver and wife, Paula of Rockwall, Texas; sisters, Cori Elkins of Mesquite, Texas and Brianne Binyon of Mesquite, Texas; brothers, Joel Vandiver and wife, Kristina of Austin, Texas, Jarod Mizell of San Diego, California; grandparents, J.B. and Helen Toler of Allen, Texas; grandfather, Billy J Vandiver of Rockwall, Texas; niece, Haven Binyon; nephews, Alex Elkins, Maverick Binyon and a host of other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Vandiver and grandmother, Coleene Vandiver. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, June 4, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Wednesday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
