Bobbie Maxine Oakes, age 82, of Plano, Texas, passed away July 9, 2014, in Plano. Bobbie was born October 18, 1931, in Granbury, Texas, to John West and Bulah Mae (Bennett) Massey. She married Charles Oakes in 1976 in Farmers Branch, Texas. Bobbie was employed with Southwestern Bell for thirty three years as an estimate assignor. She loved dancing and travel. Bobbie also enjoyed 42 and any kind of card game. She was a member of Parkway Hills Baptist Church in Plano.
She is survived by her daughter, Melodie Parker of Plano, Texas; son, David Moore of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Kallie Jones, Alexander Parker, Alison Moore, and Christopher Moore; sister, Betty Munday and husband, Ira of Irving, Texas; nephews, Michael Munday and Dale Munday and wife, Barbara and their children, Bryan and Michelle; first husband, Horace Eba Moore, Jr. of McKinney; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Charles Oakes, and step-father, Jack Morgan.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Pastor Sam Dennis officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
