Mr. Bob McCord, age 75, of Allen, Texas passed away on March 2, 2005, at his home in Allen. He was born on June 30, 1929 in Ennis, Texas to Elmer Spurgeon and Belle (Smith) McCord. He married Thelma Ferguson on June 6, 1951 in Ennis, Texas. Mr. McCord was a retired Director of Technical Services for Southwest Airlines. He was a member of the Custer Road United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a veteran of the Berlin Air Lift and the Korean Conflict. Mr. McCord spent 10 glorious years on the golf course at Hideaway Lake in Lindale, Texas. He enjoyed reading the paper, playing golf and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Thelma McCord of Allen, Texas; daughter, Faith Milam and husband, Michael of Allen, sons, Robert McCord and wife, Debbie of Booneville, Mississippi and Tim McCord and wife, Michelle of Allen, and daughter, Christina Adams and husband, Andrew, also of Allen; grandchildren, Bryan Heard of Allen, Alison Counts of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Amber McCord of Austin, Texas, Andrew Guiette of The Colony, Texas, Evan McCord, Sarah Grace Adams, and Rachel Adams, all of Allen; sisters, Betty Long of Hurst, Texas and Donna Lipsey of Ennis; brother, Loren McCord of Carrollton, Texas; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Mr. McCord was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers and 1 sister. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the Custer Road United Methodist Church Chapel with Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Directors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Custer Road United Methodist Church for Friday Night Friends, a respite program for parents of medically fragile children.
