IN LOVING MEMORY

Bob Lay

Aug 13 1954 - Sep 26 2007

We celebrate the short, yet fulfilled, life of Robert “Bob” Lay, of Dallas who passed away on the evening of Wednesday, September 26th. Born in San Diego, CA on August 13th, 1954, he served two tours in Vietnam as a Navy Seal & was passionately patriotic. Recently relocated from The Colony, Bob, co-owner of Bob’s Kitchen & KL Creations worked with his wife, Kim, for the last 8 years. Simply put, Bob was an amazing man. He was known for his quick wit, practical jokes, generous nature & incredible love & commitment to his wife. He was an avid history buff, marine enthusiast, fabulous cook & John Wayne fanatic. Taken from the movie The Shootist, Bob lived his life by these words: “I won’t be wronged, I won’t be insulted, I won’t be laid a hand on, I don’t do these things to other people & I require the same from them.” He will be missed by all but his spirit will live on within us. Bob is survived by his wife, Kim Lentscher Lay of Dallas and sons Chris & Bryan Lay of San Diego. Bob’s life will be celebrated with an open house to be held at his home in Dallas on Saturday, October 6th from 12-4. Memorials may be made to the Robert J. Lay Memorial Fund c/o North Dallas Bank & Trust, 5150 Keller Springs, Dallas 75248 or the cancer charity of your choice.
