Billy Doyce Stephens

Billy Doyce Stephens, age 83, of McKinney, Texas, passed away August 14, 2010, in Princeton, Texas. Billy was born October 7, 1926, in Prosper, Texas, to W. W. "Bill" and Musa (Smith) Jeanes. She married John Stephens on December 23, 1946, in Anna, Texas. Billy graduated from Boyd High School in 1945. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone. Billy was president of the 36th division Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Ding-a-Lings at Southwestern Bell, and was also a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Billy was a lifetime member of North Baptist Church where she was involved with the Ladies Quilting Group. She also attended Waddill Street Baptist Church. Billy was always ready and willing to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. She is survived by her husband, John Stephens of McKinney, Texas; sons, Gene A. “Butch” Stephens and wife, Georgia of Ft. Worth, Texas and James “Rusty” Stephens and wife, Andrea of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy Olson and husband, Scott, DaLaine M. Stephens and fiancé, Jason Donaldson, Jeralyn D. Stephens, and Stephen Messick and wife, Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Cory, Madison, and Tucker; sisters, Lanell Sapp of Waxahachie, Texas and Margaret Kemp of New Hope, Texas; brother, Kenneth Jeanes and wife, Carey McMann of McKinney, Texas; sister-in-law, Betty Sue Jeanes; and numerous other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Bob Jeanes, and sister, Patsy Ruth Mitchell. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org\honor. The family would like to thank the staff of Villa Asuncion and Vitas Hospice for their kind and considerate care.
