Billy Wayne Spann

Billy Wayne Spann was born September 1, 1930 in Monkstown, Texas to John Franklin Spann and Minnie Selena Thomas Spann. He married Faye McKinney on February 11, 1953 in Durant, Oklahoma. He died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas at the age of 82. He was a resident of Trenton, Texas.

Bill proudly served his nation in the U.S. Army in Korea. After leaving the service he worked as a Food Inspector for the U.S.D.A. for 29 years. He was a member and a Deacon of the First Baptist Church of Trenton. He loved his family and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by wife, Faye Spann of Trenton; son, Michael Spann and wife Cherri of Oklahoma City; son, Jimmy Spann and wife Vickie of McKinney; son, David Spann and wife Kathy of Allen; son, Steve Spann and wife Jenny of Whitewright; grandchildren, Angela Gore, Kevin Spann, Jamie Spann, Trini Guinn, Carrie Spann, Kellie Spann, Brian Spann, Bethany Spann, Kersten Spann, Steven Spann, Joshua Coffman, Jessica Christman, and Jillian Pinder; great-grandchildren, Dalton Gore, Karly Gore, Macy Gore, Bryson Gore, Kenly Gore, Brock Gore, Ahna Cabrera, Kaden Guinn, Sydney Smith, Marshall Pinder. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Trenton, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Joshua Crutchfield and Rev. James Henry. Burial will follow at Burns Cemetery in Trenton, Texas. Pallbearers will be Deacons of the First Baptist Church, David Parks, Jeff Barnes, Cecil Doniho, Bobby Martin, Phil Fleming, Leon Moore, Royce Call, Gaylon Todd and Brian Skinner.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 6-8pm at the First Baptist Church, Trenton, Texas.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Trenton, Building Fund.
