Billy Joe Self of McKinney, Texas passed away November 2, 2011 in Modesto, California at the age of 83. He was born September 14, 1928 to George L. and Eula Mae (Mount) Self in McKinney. Billy served his country in The United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He spent 40 years of his professional career working as an X-Ray and Lab-Technician for Mitchell Clinic in McKinney. Billy developed life-time friendships with his colleagues. He enjoyed his interest in gun collection and was a member of First Baptist Church of McKinney. He is survived by his aunt Ella Jeane Stroud; cousins, Jerry Stroud and wife Kim, Connie Ohlendorf and husband Tom, Perry Smith, Mary Mancuso and David Sherlock all of California. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Eula Self. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. Interment to immediately follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Tuesday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
