Billy Ray Jenkins, age 78, of McKinney, TX, passed away May 11, 2011. He was born on July 7, 1932, in Gadsden, Alabama, to James William and Delia (Badgett) Jenkins. On June 3, 1950 Billy married his wife Margaret Thompson Jenkins in Gadsden, Alabama. Billy proudly served his country, during the Korean Conflict, in the United States Army. He was a welder at Staley Steel in Frisco, Texas for 10 years. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jenkins of McKinney, Texas; son, Freddie Jenkins of Princeton, Texas; daughters, Diane McClellan-Clark and husband Dennie of Rowlett, Texas, Tonya Ponder and husband Kennith of Houston, Texas, Linda Tomlinson and husband James of McKinney, Texas; eight grandchildren; and eighteen great-grandchildren. Billy was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra; three brothers; and one sister. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at 2:30 p.m., at Ridgeview Memorial Park, in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home, Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow in Allen, Texas, at their convenience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
