Billy Gene Folkers, age 77, of Dallas, Texas passed away April 1, 2010. He was born November 18, 1932, in Seminole, Oklahoma, to William Jesse and Viola (Kenyon) Folkers. Billy married Lois Aylward on November 28, 1952, in Raton, New Mexico. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Folkers received his Bachelor’s Degree in business from Fort Hays State University and his Master’s Degree in personnel management from Southern Methodist University. He worked in Employee Relations for Mobil Oil. Billy was a member of First United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas. He was an avid golfer and loved wood working. Billy is survived by his wife, Lois Folkers of Dallas; sons, David Folkers and Dot Hamot, of Magnolia, Texas, Lynn Folkers and wife Jennifer, of McKinney, Texas, and Andrew Folkers of Richardson, Texas; daughter, Cyndi Daugherty and husband Tim, of Parker, Texas; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Irma Jean Folkers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 3, 2010, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, with Rev. Carol Stone officiating. Interment will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday, to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
