Billy Lynn Elam, 89 year old Bonham resident, died August 20, 2008, at the Clyde W. Cosper Veterans Home at Bonham, Texas. There will be no public visitation or service. A private family memorial service will take place at a later date. Mr. Elam was born May 30, 1919, at Celeste, Texas. His parents were Richard Givens "Jack" Elam and Clydia Hazal Elam. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the First Baptist Church of Celeste, Texas. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Don Medford of Sherman, Texas. He is also survived by four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, R. G. Elam, Jr.; sister, Golden McDonald; and grandsons, Steven Bostick and Michael Elma. Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of arrangements.
