Billy Boles Cooper

Billy Boles Cooper died Friday, September 3, 2010 at Sherman, Texas at the age of 82 years, 6 months. He was born February 26, 1928 at Gunsight, Texas in Stephens County to Earl “Buck” Cooper and Annie Lee Boles Cooper Shaw. Mr. Cooper attended a one room school at Gunsight through the 5th grade. He graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1945 and Ranger Jr. College in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He was employed by the Texas Electric Service Company at Eastland, Texas for 16 years, where he met his wife Regena Read Cooper. They were married on June 30, 1954 at Ranger, Texas. He retired from the Texas-New Mexico Power Company in December of 1992 after 21 years of service. Mr. Cooper was a member of the Whitewright Church of Christ where he served as an Elder, Bible School teacher and song leader for many years. He is survived by wife, Regena Cooper of Whitewright; daughter, Suzanne Cope and husband Ron of Tulsa, Oklahoma; son, Jeffery Cooper of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; grandson, John Read Cope of Tulsa, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Billy Crudgington of Seymour. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Judith Crudgington. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, September 5, 2010 at the Church of Christ, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Mr. Frazier Conley. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 6, 2010 at 2:00pm at the Alameda Cemetery in Eastland County, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Saturday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Saturday, September 4th from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
