Billy “Bill” Ralph Hogan of McKinney, Texas passed away on July 21, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born on April 9, 1942 in Wagoner County, Oklahoma to William Ewin “W.E.” and Emma Lou (Eubanks) Hogan. Bill grew up in Pensacola, Oklahoma on his family’s dairy farm and graduated from Adair High School, Adair, Oklahoma in 1960. He married Rita Lou Henderson on July 6, 1963 in Durant, Oklahoma. Bill worked for General Cable for 38 years where he was a machine setup technician until his retirement in 2001. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Van Alstyne, Texas. Bill enjoyed spending time with family and his beloved mini Yorkshire terrier, Bitzy, traveling to Oklahoma for hometown reunions, woodworking and painting small figurines and bird houses. Bill and Rita celebrated their Golden wedding anniversary in July of 2013.
Those left to honor his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Rita; son, Michael L. Hogan and wife Liz; granddaughter, Lauren M. Hogan; grandson, Bradley Hogan all of McKinney, Texas; brother, Jerry Hogan and wife Martha of Van Alstyne, Texas; sister, Rhonda J. Hogan of Allen, Texas; sister-in-law, Ronna Johnson and husband Glen of McKinney, Texas; nieces, Jenny Small and husband Jay of Keller, Texas, Laura Greene and husband Reggie of Van Alstyne, Texas and Melissa Smith and husband Booter of McKinney, Texas.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Friday, July 24, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening, July 23, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
