Mr. Bill Weatherly, age 79, of Melissa, Texas entered into rest on December 5, 2008, in McKinney, Texas. He was born on August 12, 1929, in Wichita Falls, Texas to John Floyd and Pearlie Mae (Thompson) Weatherly. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Bill worked for Settle-Radke Tractor Supply, now Ag-Power for over 20 years. On July 12, 1997, he married Jennie Buchanan in Melissa. He was member of the American Legion Post 96 in McKinney and of the Baptist faith. Bill is survived by his wife, Jennie Weatherly of Melissa; children, Jimmy Buchanan and wife, Brenda of Sadler, Texas, Teresa Fleming and husband, Carl of Howe, Texas, Gwen Bowling and husband, Bubba of Whitesboro, Texas, and Tim Buchanan and wife, Connie of Collinsville, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren; sister, Bobbie Holdren of Garland, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and many friends; and special four legged loving companion, Lady. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marie; daughter, Cathy Smith; and nine brothers and sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Dr. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m., Sunday at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Serving as the pallbearers will be Mr. Weatherly’s grandsons and close friends. Honorary pallbearer will be his former co-workers at Ag-Power.
