Command Sergeant Major (CSM) Bill Perry, age 75, of Frisco, Texas, passed away April 14, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. He was born December 31, 1933, in O’Donnell, Texas, to William Roy and Myrtle Lee (Owens) Perry. He married Sophie Gerda Seitz on April 25, 1961, in Oberelchingen, Germany. He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service, having served in Japan, Germany and fought in Korea and Vietnam. His awards and decorations include the Combat Infantryman’s Badge (2nd Award), 2 Silver Stars, Legion of Merit, 6 Bronze Stars, 4 Purple Hearts, Air Medal and Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry. CSM Perry is survived by his wife Gerda of Frisco, Texas; son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter, Bill, Heather and Sophie Perry of Frisco, Texas; sister, Lois Jackson of Medford, Oregon; brother, Ed Perry of San Diego, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Roy and Myrtle Lee Perry; brothers, Garland and Clyde Perry; sisters, Lorene Nelson and Melva Thrasher. The family will receive friends during a Visitation to be held at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 8520 Main Street, Frisco, Texas 75034 on Sunday, April 19, 2009 beginning at 2:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75034 at 10:30 AM on Monday, April 20, 2009 with Father Joe Lee presiding. A Graveside Service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday at DFW National Cemetery (Lane B), 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
