Bill Mitchell of Farmersville, Texas passed away October 19, 2016, surrounded by his family.   Bill was a local business man for 40 years and served 2 terms on the Farmersville City Council.  He was a 30 year veteran of the Dallas Football Officials Association, served on the Board at the Irving YMCA and coached various little league sports for many years.  Bill was born September 27, 1940 in Dallas, Texas, Graduated from High School in Terrell, TX. He moved with his family from Irving, TX to Farmersville in 1976 where he remained a resident and community activist until his passing.    

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, WC and Clara Mitchell, sister, Betty and Brother, Bobby.  He is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Zemenick Mitchell, Son and Daughter-in-law, Tony and Kim Mitchell of Haslet, TX; Daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steven Rabon of Mocksville, North Carolina; Son and Daughter-in-law William and Jennifer Mitchell of McKinney, TX; Daughter, Kristi Ann Herbert of Mansfield; Daughter, Bree Ann Mitchell of Celina, TX; Son and Daughter-in-law, Chad and Stefani Mitchell of McKinney, TX; Son and Daughter-in-law, Jon Paul and Courtney Mitchell of Whitewright, TX; Brother, Barry Mitchell of Dallas, TX; 17 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  He was committed to and loved his children unconditionally.  Bill remained a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Ann Curington’s Chocolate Pie and Alice Lynn Talley’s Chocolate Chip Cookies.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 5 to 7 at the Hurst’s Fielder-Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville, TX. Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday at the First United Methodist Church in McKinney, TX.
