Bill Darwin Harrison

Bill Darwin Harrison was born December 17, 1937 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to William Eby Harrison and Evelyn Jewel Lucas Harrison. He married Nancy Rae Nordstrom on November 17, 1956 in El Reno, Oklahoma. They were married for 57 years. He died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at his home in Whitewright, Texas at the age of 76.

Bill attended Norman High School where he lettered in four sports. While at Norman he played on the State Championship Basketball Team. His senior year his family moved to Oklahoma City where he attended Capital Hill High School where he played on the State Championship Baseball Team. He graduated from Capital Hills High School. After High School he played for the St. Louis Cardinals baseball farm team. He was a graduate of Oklahoma City University.

Bill was retired from Contel Telephone Company where he was a Marketing Manager. He was a life long golfer and loved playing golf with his sons and grandsons. He was a passionate sports fan and a lifelong OU Sooner. He was a member of the Chickasaw Nation. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Whitewright. Bill loved his family. He was greatly loved and will be missed.

He is survived by wife, Nancy Harrison of Whitewright; son, Dean Harrison and wife Tammy; daughter, Terri Mason and husband Steve; son, Danny Harrison and wife Kim; daughter, Hayley Jordan and husband Brad; grandchildren, T.J. and Heather Norris; Blake and Callie Harrison; Courtney Mason, Drew Harrison, Taylor Jordan and Ryanne Jordan; great-grandchildren, Nick Norris, Noah Norris, and Harper Harrison; sister-in-law, Linda Hopper and husband Randy; He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jewel Harrison; brother, Jimmy Harrison; nephew, Craig Christiansen.

Graveside Services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, Norman, Oklahoma. Officiating the service will be Brad Jordan. Pallbearers will be Randy Hopper, Dean Harrison, Danny Harrison, Steve Mason, Blake Harrison, and Drew Harrison.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 6-8pm at the First United Methodist Church, Whitewright, Texas.
