Beverly Kay Groves

Beverly Kay (Chandler) Groves was born on January 25, 1955 in Brownwood, Texas, the daughter of Martha Newsom and Owen Chandler. She was a fifth generation Texan, her family being among the founding families of Brownwood. Beverly and her mother lived together until 1969 when they merged their family with James Bundy and his son Ron and daughter Linda Carol. The family moved to McKinney in 1970. She graduated from Denton High School in 1973 and was an honor student. Beverly went to North Texas and Abilene Christian University where she graduated in 1977 with a degree in social work. She worked as a social worker at Bowles Home for Children and with child protective services. Beverly Chandler and Kim Groves married November 4, 1989. She enjoyed art, including oil painting, quilting and stained glass. Beverly was a member of the Collin County Historic Preservation Group and had been a member of Collin County Genealogy Society. She attended the Church of Christ, most recently the Collin County church of Christ.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Kim Groves; mother, Martha; dad, Jim Bundy; step-brother, Ron Bundy; step-sister, Linda Carol Bundy; niece, Julia Hardy; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Owen Chandler.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday afternoon, August 21, 2015 to pay their respects and to sign the register book.
