Betty Lou Reeves

Betty Lou Reeves of Sulphur Springs, Texas passed away July 3, 2012 at the age of 75.  She was born August 19, 1936 in Princeton, Texas to Benjamin and Ola Lee (Taylor) Thomas. On February 11, 1952, Betty married Albert Reeves in Princeton, Texas. She retired from Princeton Independent School District as a teacher’s aide. In the following years, she and her husband of 60 years worked together in several endeavors.  Mrs. Reeves struggled with Alzheimer’s for the past 7 years and went peacefully to the Lord. She was a former member of First Baptist Church, and most recently a member of Brashear Baptist Church in Brashear, Texas, where she was very active in church activities.

She is survived by her husband, Albert Reeves, Sr. of Sulphur Springs, Texas; children, Betty Reeves Finn of Sulphur Springs, Texas, Margaret Yochum and husband Tom of Westminster, Texas, Albert Reeves, Jr. and wife Shaina of Brashear, Texas; grandchildren, Kenneth Newsom of San Diego, California, Katrisha Milligan of Sachse, Texas, Karen Lockett of Bellville, Texas, Kevin Newsom of Katy, Texas, Glynn Mosier of Fort Worth, Texas, Chris Mosier of Westminster, Texas, Dharma Reeves and Taylor Reeves both of Brashear, Texas, Aiden Udell of Brashear, Texas Victoria Reeses of Brashear, Texas; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Nevil of Garland, Texas, Trudy Braswell of Leonard, Texas and Linda Dillinger of Locksburg, Arkansas; brother, James Thomas of Marlin, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Ola Thomas and brother, Mike Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m., on Friday, July 6, 2012, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation beginning at 7 pm, on Thursday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
