Betty Christene Neal passed into the loving arms of her Saviour, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at Mullican Care Center in Savoy, Texas at the age of 71.
Christene was born on September 15, 1942 on a farm in Kentuckytown, Texas to Timothy Dale Neal and Lockie Marie Harp Neal. She was born again when she was about 13 years old and received Christ as her personal Saviour. She was baptized and joined the Kentuckytown Baptist Church.
She was an active member and was dedicated to the Lord’s work. She was instrumental in the organization and through the building committee to build the first new Sanctuary and some what active to the new building. She loved her Saviour and her church family. She loved her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Christene was preceded in death by her mama and daddy, Tim and Lockie Neal; sister, Jean McKinney; and brother Buck Neal.
She is survived by sister, Maxine Pierce and husband Bill; sister, Aline Anderson and husband Eddie; brother, Billy Neal and wife Billie Jean; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Kentuckytown Baptist Church, Whitewright, Texas. Officiating the service will be Rev. Rodney Stanford, Rev. Greg Allen, and Rev. Billy Neal, Jr.. Burial will follow at Vittitoe Cemetery in Grayson County, Texas. Pallbearers will be Scott Anderson, Bruce Neal, Billy Vernon Neal, Jr., Earl Chesser, Leslie Pierce, Billy Don Morse, Gary McKinney, Mark McKinney, and Tim Neal. Honorary Pallbearer will be James Blakey.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Friday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 6-8pm at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Whitewright, Texas.
