Betty Louise Metzger, 79 of McKinney, TX, formerly of South Windsor, CT, passed peacefully into God’s hands November 3, 2005 after a brief struggle with cancer. She was born on May 7, 1926 in East Brady, PA to William James and Beryl (McCool) Mock. She resided in South Windsor for 34 years before moving to McKinney in 2004. Betty will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, William James Metzger of McKinney, TX; her children, William James Metzger III and wife Melanie of Ellington, CT, Doreen Russ and husband Joseph of Atlanta, GA, Jeffrey Metzger and wife Frances of McKinney, TX; grandchildren, Timothy and Jessica Easter, Kristen, David, and Bryce Metzger, Ashley, Alexandra, and Allyssa Russ, Brandon, Demi, Julia, Olivia, and Noah Metzger; brothers, Ronald and Dean Mock, both of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Patricia Rainey and husband James of Pittsburgh, PA. Betty’s daughter, Kathy Easter precedes her in death. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, November 14, 2005 at the Rockville Church of the Nazarene, 47 East Street, Vernon, CT 06066. Flowers may be sent to the church the day of the service or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
