Mrs. Betty Bishop of Farmersville, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in Farmersville, Texas, after a decade long battle of Alzheimers. She was the daughter of Eldon and Rosie Ford. She was born January 18, 1939 in Millsap, Texas. She graduated from Millsap High School as the Valedictorian. She then went to Weatherford College where she met her husband, Bill Bishop. They were married July 24, 1959 in Millsap, Texas. They celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary last year just prior to Bill’s death. She graduated from the University of North Texas and began an almost 40 year career as an elementary school teacher most of that at Tatum Elementary in Farmersville. Betty was a member of the Farmersville Church of Christ.
Betty is survived by her children, Bobby Bishop and wife Patty and Becky Adamson and husband Kevin all of Farmersville. She is also survived by her brothers, Howard Ford of Millsap, Texas and Bobby Ford and wife Sherry of North Richland Hills, Texas. She is survived by grandchildren, Robert Bishop of Dallas, Kylie Pazzaglini and husband Alex of Austin, Garrett Kurtis of San Marcos, and Katy Adamson of Bentonville, Arkansas.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 22, 2017 from 10:00 to 12:00 a.m. at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
Graveside services will be at 12:30 in I. O. O. F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas. Bro. Clint Brown will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Bill and Betty Scholarship for future education majors in care of the Farmersville Education Foundation.
