Betty Honeysucker-Martin

On April 14, 1961, Betty Honeysucker-Martin was born to Luther and Mary Honeysucker Jr., in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Betty was baptized at an early age at Harvey CME Church where she attended Sunday school and sang in the Sunbeam choir with great enthusiasm. She attended St. Susanna School and graduated from Thornton Township High School in June 1977, and attended Chicago State University where she received her B.S. in Business Administration and started her Human Resource career with United Healthcare and later relocated from Chicago, Illinois to Plano, Texas where she worked at Semper Healthcare and later Kindred Healthcare until her illness in the Summer of 2010. Betty was united in Holy Matrimony to Norwood Martin on November 18, 1995 and conceived two beautiful boys. She was a very loving and devoted wife and mother. After relocating to Plano, Texas with her family, she joined Grace Outreach Church, Plano Texas. Betty was a dedicated member of Jack & Jill of America, where her boys were actively engaged. As well as being active with the “2016” youth group in Plano, Texas. On March 25, 2011, Betty became absent from her body to be present with the Lord. Betty’s legacy and memory will be cherished by her husband, Norwood, sons Chandler Aaron and Blair Benjamin of Plano, Texas; parents Luther & Mary Honeysucker of Harvey, Illinois; sisters Bertha (Kevin) Hunt of Homewood, IL; Barbara Honeysucker of Atlanta, Georgia; April Honeysucker of Atlanta, Georgia; nephews Kevin and Marcus Hunt of Atlanta, Georgia; Goddaughter Lauren Mounts of Houston, Texas and a host of loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 1, 2011 at Hamilton Park United Methodist Church, 11881 Schroeder Road, Dallas, Texas 75243. Visitation will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Hamilton Park United Methodist Church.
