Betsy Kerr Donaldson Wilson, 68, passed away peacefully in her Allen home on Saturday, November 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents Tom Donaldson and Betty Munson Donaldson. Betsy was born September 13, 1941, in Sherman, Texas and raised, along with her sister in El Paso, Texas. Growing up, she attended St. Mary’s Hall in San Antonio and graduated from El Paso High. She attended Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington, D.C. Betsy spent her adult years in Dallas, Texas where she raised her daughter. She was active in helping out with school activities and always tended to the needs of others. Betsy was a loving mother and a devoted grandmother who loved to have her four grandchildren over to her house for play dates. She was known for putting others before herself. Betsy always kept her fears to herself, but shared her courage with others. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Filippo, son-in-law, Keith Filippo; four grandchildren, Austin, Megan, Kaitlin and Jacob; sister, Peggy Donaldson Bishop; nephews, Tom and Ray McNutt; and uncles, David Munson and Sam Donaldson. Betsy leaves behind loving family and friends who will miss her wit and honesty. Services will be held on Wednesday, December 2 at 2pm at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Denison, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Betsy’s name to the Visiting Nurses Association or Operation Kindness.
