Beth Moffitt, age 92, of Allen, Texas passed away April 28, 2009. She was born December 22, 1916 in Menard County, Texas to Maywood and Molly (Frazier) Bethel. On September 8, 1942 she married Luther Carl Moffitt, Jr. in Dallas, Texas. She was a former member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Dallas. Beth was active with the wives of the Hella Temple Clowns. She was also an accomplished painter and seamstress. She is survived by her daughter, Ann Hoffman and husband, Arthur of Plano; grandson, Dane Hoffman of Garland and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carl Moffitt; sister, Sarah Searcy; brothers, Lenson, Ion, Brooks, Milligan and Buster Bethel. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 1, 2009, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Chaplain Jon Haack officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the staff at Victoria Gardens in Allen and Vitas Hospice.
